Philadelphia Connect: Spring Break Service Days is a community-centered alternative spring break experience for Penn State students and alumni who want to give back, explore mission-driven careers, and stay connected to the region while home for break.

Hosted by the Philadelphia chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association in partnership with Penn State Outreach, this experience brings together students and alumni from any Penn State campus or college for service, learning, and connection with Philadelphia-based nonprofit organizations. 

What to Expect

Spring Break Service Days participants will:

  • Volunteer with a Philadelphia nonprofit addressing real community needs such as food insecurity, environmental sustainability, or neighborhood revitalization
  • Learn how mission-driven organizations operate and explore nonprofit and public service careers through discussions with experienced professionals
  • Connect with Penn State students from across campuses and majors
  • Network with Penn State alumni and local leaders committed to community impact
  • Enjoy lunch with fellow participants

Transportation note: Transportation will not be provided. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from their volunteer site.

Volunteer Locations and Details

Participants may select their preferred location and shift during registration. Space at each site is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional event details and reminders will be shared with registered participants prior to the event.
